According to the Democratic Party of Georgia:
The 2018 Georgia Democratic Party State Convention will be held on Saturday, August 25 at the Omni CNN Center in beautiful downtown Atlanta. The convention is our party’s chance to gather together, express our shared values, celebrate what it means to be a Democrat, and show how excited we are to elect Leader Stacey Abrams, Sarah Riggs Amico, and the entire Democratic ticket this fall.
Public Agenda: We have a terrific lineup for this year’s convention. Please note that this agenda may be subject to change. View the agenda HERE.
Seating Chart: View a copy of the 2018 Convention Seating Chart HERE. We are anticipating a large crowd of Delegates, Alternates, and Guests. In addition to the categories shown, there will also be a dedicated ADA seating section. If you or someone you know will need assistance, please be sure to contact Roy Sherman.
Convention Rules: On Tuesday, August 14th the State Convention Rules Committee met and approved the Rules of the Convention. As required by our bylaws, the Rules Committee Report is available HERE.
Resolutions: One of the ways our party can express its shared values and beliefs is through the process of adopting resolutions. The Convention Rules do not allow resolutions to be submitted from the convention floor, however – the Resolutions Committee is accepting submissions in advance. If you wish to submit a resolution for consideration by the Resolutions Committee you may do so by emailing the Resolutions Committee prior to Wednesday, August 23rd at 5:00 pm.
Hotel Accommodations: Given the high demand for hotel rooms in Atlanta, there is no official room block for the convention this year. However there a number of options for staying the night. You will find a few recommended hotel options to consider, along with an average cost per night HERE.
Convention Volunteer: If you’d like to learn more about volunteer opportunities for the 2018 State Convention please email our Volunteer Coordinator.
Voluntary Delegate Fee: Every Delegate and Alternate is invited to invest in the convention by paying a $50 fee. This is a voluntary and optional fee that goes directly to defraying the costs of the convention, including food, beverage, and printing expenses. We greatly appreciate any support you can provide. A pay station will be available outside of the convention hall on the morning of the convention, but you can also submit payment HERE.
We can’t wait to see everyone on August 25! Thanks for all that you do!
